Materuni Waterfalls

Nestled in the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro lies the beautiful village of Materuni. Home to the Chagga tribe and famous for the tremendous 80-meter tall Materuni Waterfall and its aromatic, rich coffee. It’s a beautiful setting and on a clear day, you will have spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Firstly you will take a short hike to Materuni Waterfall, locally known as Nambe Waterfall. Nambe means ‘first born’ and the waterfall got this name as it is the first waterfall that comes from the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. At the end of this magnificent waterfall lies a tranquillity pool, where you can take a dip after the hike. So a swim suit can come in handy!
